- We noticed during service that the hydro boost unit is leaking power steering fluid. This is a hydraulic unit that runs off the power steering pump and is for braking. These get worse causing noise and erratic brake pedal operation over time. Also spark plug replacement is due at 90K miles. Plugs and wires are the normal replacement at that time.
- Scanned system for codes and found a P0446-EVAP system vent vale performance issue. We cleared and tested with scan tool. We could activate the valve several times so the circuit is good. These are a common failure item on GM products. We inspected and found the valve is hanging and has been tampered with. We would suggest replacing the vent valve and securing. Clear system and retest.
